Obituary of Alice Popowich

ALICE POPOWICH It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother on September 4, 2008 at the age of 81. Alice was predeceased by her husband Mike in 1993, her parents, and sister Marge (Norman), and numerous sisters and brothers-in-laws. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Darlene and granddaughter Jaime of Vancouver, her son Brian (Sandy), grandsons Joshua and Cory, granddaughter Amanda of Winnipeg, her sister Kaye (Aaron) of Edmonton. Alice will also be missed by many devoted family and friends. Following her service in the Armed Forces (WACC), Alice worked at Continental Can Packaging Co. until her retirement. She then devoted her time and efforts to her children and grandchildren, making special treats, creating fond memories, enjoying each and every Sunday dinner and all special occasions with her family and friends. She loved to keep in contact with everyone she knew through letters and cards. Not a birthday or anniversary went by that she did not acknowledge in some way or another. Alice was also an avid reader. She would complete a novel in one day and loved to write poetry. Alice was a loving and generous person who will be dearly missed. Service will be held Thursday, September 11, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street and Inkster, Winnipeg. Interment to follow at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St. Wpg, MB R3L OK6. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com
