Obituary of Anne PILAT
ANNE PILAT
Peacefully on February 27, 2010 at St. Boniface Hospital Anne quietly passed away just short of her 90th birthday. She will be sadly missed by many.
Anne is survived by her children Edward(Stella), Patricia(Bruce), Caroline, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents George and Eva Yaremchuk, her sister Mary and brother-in-law Mike Starecki, her brother Steve and sister-in-law Lena Yaremchuk, her grandson Michael Pilat and son-in-law Brian Peabody.
Anne was born May 15, 1920 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She graduated from St. John's High School, where she met her husband Jim. Later she returned to college to finish an administrative secretarial course.
Anne returned to the work force as her children grew older and worked for the Manitoba Government as an Administrative Secretary for the Department of Health from which she retired at the age of 65.
Mom had many talents and lots of energy. One of her many proud accomplishments was being the secretary of the Manitoba Government Five Pin Bowling League where she would manually calculate the scores and averages of the growing leagues members. She continued to bowl 5 pin after she retired and soon challenged herself with 10 pin bowling as well. She went on trips and dinners out with her various friends and relatives. She enjoyed her role as Baba to her many grandchildren with whom she spent many hours.
Special thanks to Riverview Health Centre and St. Boniface Hospital.
