Obituary of Miroslav Pastuch

MIROSLAV (ROSS) PASTUCH April 18, 1918 - May 31, 2009 Ross passed away at Concordia Hospital on Sunday morning, May 31, 2009 at 3:00 a.m. He was 91 years old. Ross was born in the north end and attended King Edward, Isaac Newton and St. John's Tech schools. Ross was predeceased by his parents Parascevia and Emil and his in-laws Maria and John Kretowski of Husavick. He also lost his brothers Mike and Ernie and sister-in-law Anne. Ross and Bertha were married in May 1947 and spent 62 years together. (Thank-you Ross for sharing your life with me.) He is survived by his loving wife Bertha, son Russell (Lynn), grandson Kristjan and granddaughter Kristine (my darling Clementine) of Ottawa, his son Walter or Wally as he is called who called every morning to check on his parents, his sister-in-law Mary and her four children. Ross was in the military and served from 1942-1946 with the Queens Own Camerons as a motorcycle dispatcher in England, Belgium, Germany and France. Ross was very proud of his military service. Ross worked for Canada Post for 27 years and belonged to Legion 141. In compliance with Ross's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal funeral service. The ashes will be interred at Glen Eden Cemetery at a later date. Thank you to Dr. Doermer for all the care, the firefighters and paramedics and the wonderful staff on the 3rd floor at Concordia Hospital. Flowers are gratefully declined.
