Obituary of Donnell Palm

Donnell Christine Palm (Farbrother) On August 12, 2011, Donnell passed away with her family by her side at St. Boniface Hospital after a brief illness at the age of 83. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Deborah (Robert), grandchildren Alix and Larry, daughter-in-law Joanne (Greg), grandchildren Phil, Dylan (great grandson Levi) and Julie. Donnell was born in Kenora, Ontario on August 25, 1927 and lived there until she was 6. Her family was transferred to Vancouver and again to Winnipeg where she attended business college after high school. With a girlfriend, Donnell moved to Fudger House in Toronto where she met the love of her life Roland and was married in 1952. After Larry and Deborah were born, the family moved to Winnipeg in 1961. Donnell worked at Stephen's Paints/CIL until she left the work force in 1984 after 23 years. With the accidental passing of her son Larry in 1986, her family meant more than ever to her. It was important to have her grandchildren (her babies) together. They have so many wonderful memories being with their Grandma especially at Badger, Aunty Lynn's pool, Olive Garden and the weekly Wednesday night dinners at Grandma's. Donnell was very fortunate to have many good friends; Bud, Diane & Ron, Marie & Dave, May, Shirley & Vern, Betty, Gib & Adele, Mary Morrissey just to mention a few. Besides Donnell, she was our "A.K.A." Mommy, Ma, Grandma, Granny and Donna. The family wishes to thank the staff on A5 at the St. Boniface Hospital for taking such good care of her. "Love you forever Mommy" - Deb Celebration of her life will be held Friday, August 19, 2011 at Bronx Park Community Centre at 12:00. In lieu of flowers donations in Donnell's name may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or the MS Society. Cremation has taken place at Cropo Funeral Chapel.
