Joseph PALEY

Obituary of Joseph PALEY

JOSEPH JOHN PALEY It is with sadness that the family of Joseph Paley announces his passing on January 28, 2009 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Vicki, this past October. Joseph was born on June 27, 1924 in Winnipeg. He discovered music in his youth, and this was to bring him much joy throughout his life. Joe started on the accordion, and went on to learn the saxophone and clarinet. As a young man, he played in various bands in and around Winnipeg. In 1949, he married his sweetheart, Victoria Lozinski. They soon started their family, which quickly grew to five children. Joe worked as a front end specialist at Furby Motors for 35 years, and was a member of Jack Kolt's Orchestra. He also taught at Kolt Music Studio. In his retirement years, Joe spent many hours planning and working in his garden. He enjoyed bowling and volunteering with the C.P.A.C., playing his keyboard, and listening to every Blue Bomber game. He was also a proud Grandpa who cherished time spent with his grandchildren. Joseph is survived by his sons Robert (Carol), Brian (Beverley), John (Teri), and daughters Deborah (Eric) and Diane (Glen). He will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Jeremy Paley, Amanda Lancaster (Jason), Curtis Perry, Vanessa and Garrett Ward, and Michael and Angela Paley. Joe is also survived by his brother Walter, sister-in-law Anne, and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the wonderful staff at the Sharon Home for their exceptional care and kindness. A memorial service will be scheduled at a future date.
