Obituary of Sandra Osipa

Sandra Jean Osipa March 27, 1950 to April 13,2011 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Sandie after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Sandie was born in Winnipeg, where she spent her entire life. She attended Somerset, Hugh John MacDonald and Daniel McIntyre Schools. Sandie graduated from the University of Winnipeg in 1973. She worked for the Province of Manitoba for over 30 years. Prior to her working for the Province she lectured at the University of Brandon, in addition worked for the City of Winnipeg. Sandie had a zest for life, traveling the world with close friends and special family members. Family and friends were very important to her, she faithfully kept in touch, remembering birthdays, anniversaries, as well as keeping up with the achievements of the children of her family and friends. She participated in many sports, including, golf, squash and cycling. Sandie is survived by her dear Mother Jean Osipa, her godson Tommy and numerous cousins in Winnipeg, Chicago and British Columbia. She was predeceased by her father William, many aunts and uncles, including her special "Auntie Catherine". Sandie would want to acknowledge and thank, Dr. MacMillan for his care and support. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 16 at 9:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. with Rev. Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are: Donald Alsip, Wade Osipa, Tom Powell, Tom Morash, Adam Morash and Franz Borsboom. Donations in memory of Sandie may be made to Manitoba CancerCare.
