Obituary of Rose Orloff

ROSE ORLOFF August 10, 1916 - March 7, 2010 Rose Orloff (nee Butchko) was born in Lampman, Sask. passed away at the Holy Family Nursing Home on Sunday, March 7, 2010 where she had been a resident for the past 3 years. Rose was predeceased by her husband John (1981),by her parents, 7 sisters, and 2 brothers. She will be missed by her nephew Bill Butchko, and great-nephew, Kenny of Surrey, B.C. many other nieces and nephews throughout the western provinces, as well as her friend to the end, Alice. Rose was married to John Orloff and they had no children. John had served in the Royal Canadian Air Force overseas in the Second World War, and Canada Post later. They were members for many years at the Sir Sam Steele Legion where they had been active in bowling, curling and dart throwing. Rose had many trophies for being a champion in darts. Rose also was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. Rose and John travelled on several big trips over the years. Rose was a hard working woman, a good cook and kept her house and yard immaculately. She enjoyed her family and liked to entertain. Dancing was her favorite right up to the age of 90-91. She still could do a polka at Holy Family on Family Night or in her room with Alice. Rose was a big football fan as well , sorry, but it was Go, Riders Go. May you rest in peace! A special thank you to the staff at Holy Family on 4 A and Mary Lou and the girls at St. Mary's. Thank you also to Dr. Terry Babick for your kind support. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 12, 2010 at 1:00 pm. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
