Obituary of Peter NYZNYK
PETER DEMETRIUS NYZNYK
December 31, 1917 - May 26, 2009
On Tuesday, May 26, 2009, at Deer Lodge Centre, our Dad left this world, to join our Mom.
Dad was born on December 31, 1917, in Sarto, Manitoba. He lived his entire life in Winnipeg, raising his family on Redwood Avenue.
Dad worked for CNR for 43 years, retiring at age 62. His passions in life were golfing, bowling, and in his younger years softball. A Special Moment, was his being inducted into the Manitoba Softball Hall of Fame, in May 2005, as a member of the Northern Hotel/Ukrainian Legion Branch 141.
Special memories for us, are our trips to Clear Lake, Minneapolis, and Vancouver.
Peter leaves to cherish his memory his children Helen (Ernie), Donna, and Peter; grandchildren Glen (Debbie), Debbie (Ryan), Jacquelyne (Nintte), Patrick (Lisa), David (Ingrid), Brent (Tara) and Bradley; great grandchildren Amanda, Jennifer, and Torin; great great grandchild Michaela; sisters Martha and Terry; brother Paul (Leona).
Peter was predeceased by his wife, our Mom, Anne on March 7, 2008; brothers Michael, Carl and, Leonard; sisters Josephine and Frances; and son-in-law John.
Dad's home for the past 3 years was at Deer Lodge Centre. Everyone there became like his family. We are so grateful.
As per Dad's wishes, cremation and private celebration of life, and burial have taken place.
"Dad, Mom sure was busy painting you just the perfect "Welcome Home" sign." Rest in Peace Dad. See you later.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Peter
