Obituary of Edward Matiation

Edward Kenneth Matiation Peacefully on Thursday, Oct 14th, 2010 with Family at his side Edward passed away at the age of 57. Lovingly remembered by his mother, Olive Matiation, sisters: Marcia (Bruce), Elaine (Noel), Sharon (Scott), Gail (Keith) as well as many nieces and nephews, Raymond, Blair, Jason, Theresa, Nicole, Taylor, Kristen, Jared, Hailey, Tasha and Dessiray. Edward is preceded by his father, Frank Matiation. Edward was born July 13th, Friday, 1953 as he often mentioned his lucky day. Edward lived a full life and as a child was very active. He played Hockey, Baseball, Football and was involved with the Scout's Canada program for many years. He started as a cub and continued to become a leader. As Edward grew he was independent and started working at a young age. He delivered newspapers at the age of 10 and continued to do deliveries through out his career. He delivered for grocery and drug stores on his bike, and then continued to deliver for Canada Post. Though Edward was limited in his physical ability he wasn't limited with his ability to help a friend or family member. Edward enjoyed driving and often helped friends move and or get to an appointment. Edward liked cars and often talked about his car trip to Mexico with a few buddies. Edward had many vehicles: go cart, motorcycle, a few different cars with his favourite being his 6 1 Black Impala, Chevy Truck and his Ford van. Edward had many hobbies, which include photography, running for council, taping and re recording movies and family videos. Edward enjoyed spending time with his nephews and nieces and arranged many family events. Edward was a member of Independent Living Resources Centre( ILRC) and Manitoba League of Persons with Disabilities Inc. (MLPD). The Family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their gentle care of Edward. Prayers will be held on Monday, October 18 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Entombment will follow in Assumption Chapel Mausoleum. The Pallbearers will be nephews; Raymond Wyatt, Blair and Jay Lyon, Jared Brown and brothers -in-law Keith Kell and Noel Nault Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in memory of Edward may be made to Muscular Dystrophy Canada, 204-825 Sherbrook Street.
