Obituary of Jean MANDRICK

JEAN MANDRICK (nee AMBORSKI) On Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Grace Hospital, Jean at the age of 87 years, peacefully left us. She is survived by her son Michael, sister Pauline, brother Joe as well as sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Mike, sisters Helen, Stephie and Anne and brother Jimmy. In her youth, Jean was an accomplished athlete participating in many team sports. Later in life she enjoyed bowling, bingo, puzzles of all types and was a voracious reader. She was known to have an excellent sense of humor accompanied by a razor sharp wit. Mom was a gentle and caring soul who strived to make everyone's life a little bit better. Jean's presence will be sadly missed by those who were fortunate enough to have known and loved her. Farewell May the road rise up to meet you, May the wind be always at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, The rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of His hand. In accordance with Jean's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service. The family wishes to express its heart felt thanks to friends Doreen, Linda, Sophie and neighbour Elsie for their help during Jean's illness. The family would also like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Grace Hospital 4E and 4S along with the caregivers at Deer Lodge 2E for the respect and kindness provided to Jean and for allowing her to maintain her dignity to the end. If so desired, donations in Jean's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
