Obituary of Doreen Machum

DOREEN MARGUERITE MACHUM (nee HUNT) June 23, 1938 - October 1, 2010 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden, peaceful passing of Doreen on Friday, October 1, 2010 at the St. Boniface General Hospital. Doreen was born and raised in Edgeware, England. She emigrated to Canada in the late 1950's where she was married and raised a family. Following her divorce she settled in Winnipeg and enjoyed life. Doreen was predeceased by her parents (Percival and Winifred Hunt). Left to cherish her memories are her two sons Clive (Angie) of Winnipeg, Gordon (Jennifer) of Ottawa, four loving grandchildren that she adored, sister June Clothier and family, and many good friends. Doreen thoroughly enjoyed working in her garden, bird watching, reading and staying in touch with family and schoolmates in England. She will be deeply missed by all those that knew her. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the care and compassion provided by MICU at St. Boniface General Hospital and a special thanks to her longtime friend Louise Pryslak. In keeping with Doreen's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 8 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street with interment to follow in Victoria Cemetery, Balmoral, MB. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Doreen's name to the Winnipeg Humane Society. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044
