Obituary of Marion Lisowski

Marion Lisowski April 5, 1919 - February 28, 2011 On February 28, 2011, at Fred Douglas Lodge, Marion Lisowski peacefully passed away after fighting a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 91. He is survived by son Gary (Diane), granddaughters Andrea (Craig) and Tracy, and great grandchildren Eric and Anna. He also leaves to mourn his passing, family in Poland, his sister Regina and sister in law Wanda, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life Nellie, parents Emelia and Stanislaw, brothers Raymond and Kasmir, and sister Stasiunia. Marion served overseas in World War II and then came to Canada and became a Canadian citizen, which he was very proud of. Marion loved his family immensely, taking exceptional pride in his two granddaughters Andrea and Tracy. Later Marion was blessed with two great grandchildren, whom he loved spending quality time with after Sunday Mass. He also took great pride in his home and in his garden. Marion lived independently since 1998 in the home that him and Nellie bought in 1960, taking care of the yard, garden, and Nellie's Geraniums. The family would like to thank all the wonderful and caring staff at Fred Douglas Lodge who took such great care of him, as well as all of the friends and family who stopped by to spend quality time with him during his last days. Prayers will be said Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 10:00 at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. with Oblate Father officiating. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery.
