Obituary of Monika LINARD

MONIKA LINARD (nee STEFANIAK) After 96 years of happiness and enjoyment Monika Linard peacefully passed away on May 4, 2011. Monika was born February 10, 1915 in Celiny, Lublin, Poland. She independently immigrated to Canada in January 1949 where she met her future husband Francis Linard in Winnipeg. They joined in holy matrimony November 22, 1952 at Holy Ghost Parish. Monika had a career in housekeeping and retired from Health Sciences Center at the age of 65. Along with raising her 3 children, she enjoyed puzzles, gardening, bingo and solitaire. She lived a long and fulfilling life as a devout Roman Catholic. After the passing of her husband 13 years ago she continued her adventures with family and friends while living at the Polish Manor. Monika is survived by her daughter Irene Gonzalez (Frank Dueck); son Edward Linard (Gillian); and granddaughter Brandi McLean (Stephen). She will forever be known as Baba and will be missed deeply by many family members. She is predeceased by her husband Frank Linard and son Michael. Rosary/Viewing will take place on Monday, May 9 at 9:00am at Holy Ghost Roman Catholic Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30am with an Oblate Father presiding. Interment to follow in Holy Ghost Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks a donation made to the charity of your choice in Monika's honor.
