Obituary of Shirley LANGTRY

SHIRLEY JOAN LANGTRY (Nee SMITH) August 14, 1934 - August 30, 2009 It was with great sadness that Shirley passed away after a lengthy battle with M.S. at Seven Oaks Hospital. Shirley is survived by her sisters, Ida Magalas, Joyce Sarna and Leah Brethauer and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband George, brother Herb and parents William and Jessie Smith. Shirley was employed in various jobs, insurance companies, Ackman Realty and more recently Government of Canada (Airport Division) where she travelled to Resolute Bay, the Lakehead etc. Music was very important to Shirley; she played the guitar and loved to sing. She had a great sense of humour and loved telling jokes which had us all laughing. As her illness progressed she resided in Luther Home for many years. Thanks to all the doctors and nurses at Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness and caring. Special thanks to Dr. Goeke and nurse Mike Sinclair. Pallbearers will be her nephews. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Hanny Labun officiating. Interment to follow at Old Kildonan Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Rainbow Society or the M.S. Society.
