Mary KRUCH

Obituary of Mary KRUCH

MARY KRUCH Peacefully on July 10, 2008, Mary Kruch, nee Michalecki, passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital with family at her side. Mary will be lovingly remembered and missed by children, Judy (Ron) Worthington, Winnipeg, and John (Joan) Kruch of Edmonton, grandchildren Kelly Worthington and David and Natalie Kruch, brother Mike Michalecki (Thelma), sister Bernice (Mike) Mandzik, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Rudy in 1995, her parents, Michael and Pearl and sister Anne Alton. Mary was born in Winnipeg on June 2, 1922. Prior to her marriage, she spent a year working at a munitions plant in St. Catharine's during WWII then Mary worked as an adjuster at Eaton's Mail Order House. After Judy was born Mary became a stay-at-home mom looking after her children and husband. Mary's family was the focal point of her life, they always came first, and Mary and Rudy were always ready to lend a helping hand to family and friends. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mary found contentment in life, accepting whatever came along, enjoying the good times and bearing the hard times without complaint. Mary especially enjoyed visiting family and friends over the phone. She was always ready to lend an ear whenever someone needed to talk. She was a good listener. Cooking, baking, playing cards, reading and going for a drive gave her pleasure, as did her crossword puzzles and visits to the casino. She maintained her sense of humour to the end. The family would like to thank to wonderful staff at the Misericordia Care Centre, Cornish 6 and Fred Douglas Personal Care home where Mary spent the last few months of her life. She enjoyed her time there. Thanks also to Dr. Asita Mehta who looked after Mary for many years and to the staff at Seven Oaks. Your compassion and caring are appreciated. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. We love and miss you Mom, Grandma.
