Obituary of Edward Krawczyk
Edward Krawczyk
December 21,1913-December 1,2008
It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Krawczyk, at St. Joseph's Residence, three weeks shy of his 95th birthday. He has embarked on a new journey to meet all the family and friends who went before him that he so dearly missed. Ed was so proud to be of Polish heritage. He was born in Iwanowice Poland to Piotr and Agnieszka Krawczyk, who predeceased him along with numerous sisters and brothers. During the Second World War he served in the Polish Army, and later was displaced to Germany, immigrating to Canada on August 15, 1953. Ed was always the gentleman who helped his friends in need, at times placing their needs above his. To this day there sits a house on Barber St. that he would jokingly refer to as half his in ownership with his good friend Steve. It was also a known fact that Ed was the greatest dancer, as many dance partners would say. He loved a good waltz. His strong faith in God had sustained him in good times and bad. Going to church comforted him greatly, especially on the day of his passing. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Barbara, Manuela, Sonya and Julie, also his two sons Mario, and Roman, and their families. Special thanks to his God-daughter Mary, for all her love, help, and support throughout the years. To all the care givers at St. Joseph's a very special heartfelt thank you to each and everyone for your patience and kindness shown to Ed, and to Dr. Babick for his medical care. For those who knew Ed at St. Joseph's Residence, the Mayor of St. Joe's has relinquished his duties! Funeral Service will be held on Monday December 8, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. at Inkster. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
