Obituary of Bessie Kostynuick

BESSIE LILIAN KOSTYNUICK (September 6, 1925 - March 29, 2008) Bessie Lillian Giles Kostynuick was born Sept. 6, 1925 in MacGregor, MB where she grew up and went to school. She then came to Winnipeg where she attended business college and worked for the government and the Wheat Board. Bessie married Harry Kostynuick July 12, 1947. She leaves to mourn her two children, Edythe (Bill) Van Walleghem, Ken, two grandchildren Courtney (Todd) Whiteman, Carey (Jamey) Gillis and one great granddaughter, Caitlin. She is also survived by her sisters Alice Cooper of Ochre River, Margaret (Wm.) Longstaff of Cardale, Laura McNutt (Anthony) of Brandon, Marjorie (Roy) McPhail of Belmont, brother Jack (Marilyn) Giles; sister-in-law Kathleen (Bill) Leaman and many nieces, newphews, cousins and friends. Pre-deceased by husband Harry, mother and father Eva and Stanley Giles of MacGregor, brothers Harvey Giles of St. Catherines, Ont. and Clarence Giles of Kenora, Ont.; brothers-in-law Wm. Cooper of Ochre River and Ed Grant of St. Albert, Alta. Bessie loved bowling, knitting/crocheting and sewing, participating on the Seven Oaks Museum Board, looking after the children for Y Neighbours at Kildonan United Church as well as working with the outreach group for many years. She enjoyed her work as Secretary/Treasurer and President of the 55 and Over Club of No.1 Legion. Bessie will be laid to rest with her husband in Brookside Cemetery. Memorial Service to be held on Friday, April 4, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Kildonan United Church, 187 Kilbride Avenue.
