Obituary of Katherine Klym

KATHERINE KLYM Katherine Klym was called home April 4, 2008 at age 87. We rejoice that, by her faith, she is now in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was predeceased by her husband Mike, her parents Peter and Anna Stelmach, brothers Mike and Metro. She leaves her children Ted (Elizabeth) Lillian (Eugene Cherwick) Michael (Ursula) 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, her sister Ann Switsky, her lifelong friend of 77 years Kay Billey. Mom was born November 11, 1920 in Ukraine. The family immigrated to Canada in 1929 and settled in East Selkirk. In 1937 mom met Mike, her "blue eyed sweetheart"; they married in three weeks and lived in Winnipeg. Their prayerful life revolved around faith and family. Mom was gifted with a servant heart, was a lifetime member of Blessed Virgin Mary Church and Catholic Women's League. Her life was dedicated to her family; her greatest joy was her children, grand and great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed. We thank the staff at Holy Family Home for the love and care they extended to mom over the past six years. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, 965 Boyd Ave. Flowers gratefully declined; donations may be made to charity of choice. "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Jeremiah 29:11-13 Mom's seeking is complete. She is in the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and we rejoice with her.
