Obituary of Olga Klowak

Olga (Ollie) Klowak (nee Komar) It is with loving memories and sad hearts that we announce the passing of Ollie Klowak at Seven Oaks Hospital on January 18, 2011 at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her son Steve Klowak (Arlene), daughter Joanne McMahon (Wade), grandchildren Chad Klowak (Sarah), Kevin Klowak (fianc Carlea Jones), Shawna McMahon (Corey Cox), Jenna McMahon ( Steve Bartlett), great grandchildren Kenzie and Presley, and niece Angie Halabura (Dan, Tiana). She was predeceased by husband Steve, parents Joseph and Katherine Komar, and sister Sally Kozak. Mom has given us many fond memories of camping at Falcon Lake, and wonderful home cooked meals at family dinners. She had a passion for cooking that she has passed onto the next generations. She took pleasure in travelling and cruising extensively. As a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary, Ollie gave countless volunteer hours to the Royal Canadian Legion #141 in various positions. She served on the executive and was the Sargent at Arms of the Ladies Auxiliary Colour Party and marched in many parades. She visited veterans in hospitals and personal care homes with the Joint Hospital Committee. She is still remembered at Seven Oaks Hospital as the lady in uniform giving out candy. Mom was great at organizing and became the president of the Seniors Achievers Club, putting on many successful teas. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital, and the renal clinic for their care and compassion. We would also like to thank the Home Care program that enabled Mom to remain as independent for as long as possible in her own home. A Funeral Service will be held on January 26, 2011 at 11:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Manitoba Lung Association. Forever in our thoughts and hearts
