Brian Johns

Obituary of Brian Johns

BRIAN WESLEY JOHNS January 31, 1941 - February 12, 2010 It is with saddened hearts we announce the passing of our husband and father Brian Wesley Johns, on February 12, 2010 at the Health Sciences Centre. Known to most people as Wes, he leaves to mourn his wife Denise, daughter Diana Kashuba (Chad), son Michael, grandson Nicholas Kashuba, a sister-in-law Jeannette Godin, niece Karen Small (Ryan), and nephew Dale Godin (Stephanie), and great niece and nephew Alexa and Eric Small. As a result of a long- term illness, Wes became a resident of Fred Douglas Lodge in 1999. He loved to participate in the lodge activities and field trip outings. If there was a social gathering going on, Wes was there in the thick of it. Anyone that knew him well will remember his gift of the gab, his passion for history, and his love of food. Wes loved and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was so proud of his children. Being able to walk his daughter down the aisle despite his adversity was one of his proudest moments as a father, not to mention the birth of his grandson. He always had a special pride for his son Michael, as he would be "the one" to continue the "JOHNS" lineage. We would like to thank the medical staff on GD-4 (MICU) for their excellent care and support and for the care he received from the staff and volunteers at Fred Douglas Lodge and to his many friends there, "till we meet again". A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, February 19 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Lunch will follow in church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brian's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street 586-8044
