Obituary of Florence JAKUL
FLORENCE JAKUL (Nee RESKY) " We Will Cherish All The Memories"
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I, Sam Jakul, announce the passing of my wonderful wife and best friend of 67 years.
Florence was born in Kenora, Ontario and later moved to Winnipeg where we met and were married on August 31, 1941.
Florence began her career in the hospitality business working first at the Highwayman Motel then to the Charterhouse Hotel, where she stayed for 10 years. A career change had Florence working at Clifford's Ladies wear on Portage Avenue for the next 28 years, retiring in 1983.
Florence enjoyed her life travelling with Sam to Florida, Hawaii, New York, California and throughout Europe. Those who knew Florence, know she loved her casino trips as well.
She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary 141 Legion and the Senior Achievers Club.
Family and friends were most important to Florence and she cherished them all.
Florence was predeceased by her parents, Kathleen and Michael Resky and her brothers, Billy and Raymond.
She leaves her loving husband Sam, their children, Sharon and Larry Kelln of Mississauga, ON, Linda and Rolly of Winnipeg, Donald and Kerri of Calgary, AB, and Rose of Bonnyville, AB. Their grandchildren Barbara, Bradley, Cheryl, Cindy, Michael, Jennifer and Christopher and great grandchildren, Ashley, Amanda and Taylor.
Florence was loved by all that she touched. She was someone you could count on. She will be missed and always lovingly remembered.
The family thanks Dr.'s Goeke and Patel and the nursing staff on U2-3rd Floor of Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and compassion.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 16, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Father Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM, officiating. Interment to follow at Glen Eden. An online book of Condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.
Pallbearers Michael Jakul, Christopher Jakul, Bradley Kelln, Bill Kane, Barney Segal and Bob Marvin.
