RODMOND JOHN EARL HUSKA It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our dearest Rodmond age 21 years. At the University of Colorado Hospital, in Denver, Colorado on Wednesday June 24, 2009 with his mom by his side. He is the bravest and most courageous, youngest son of Dave and Cheryl Huska. Remaining to forever cherish in his memory are his parents Dave and Cheryl Huska, sister Belinda ( Peter ) Raposo, brother David ( Andrea ) Huska, nieces Olivia Raposo, Tayler Huska, nephew Lucas Raposo, best friend forever Melanie Hudson, grandmother Shirley Ager, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and all who met him. Rodmond was predeceased by his Great Grandparents Edith and Earl Bottrell, Grandfather Rodmond Ager, and Grandparents Peter and Vera Huska, Uncle Pat Collins, Aunt Diane Ager. Rodmond born May 21, 1988, was the most brave, courageous, caring, happy, loving, and helpful person that one would ever meet. He was the strongest member of our family. He taught us how to love unconditionally. No matter how hard times got Rodmond knew we would get through them as a family. The love of his family and friends was endless, always wanting to help someone in need, and not letting his disability get in the way. His wheels never stopped him. With the hugs that he would give, there was always a pat on the back that went along with it. He loved to watch the fire trucks, police cars, and ambulances curious where they were going as well as watching the planes fly out with Nana Marlene on their outings. He enjoyed being the extra ref at his brothers hockey games, as well the umpire at his sisters baseball games and getting upset when the officials did not make the right calls. Along with this, spending time with Melanie watching TV, going to movies, or taking their chances at the casino. Having learnt his love for television while volunteering for the Variety telethon he went on to study Radio and Television Broadcasting at Tec Voc High School. It was here that he was left with many memories including Wit, and the 24hr Famine. He also received the Lt. Governor Generals award in 2008. Rodmond was a poster child one year for Easter Seals. He fought the battles for places to be accessible so that anyone would be able to attend anywhere they wanted to. Rodmond also spent countless hours on the computer, loved movies such as High School musical, and that is probably because he loved the musicals at his school. He always wanted to be the director. Rodmond adored his nieces and nephew, he would go to the store and buy anything they wanted no matter how much it was. Rodmond was so excited to have a nephew as there was too many girls in this family. Also, the addition to our family of Peter and Andrea meant more people for him to hug. Rodmond had went to go to Las Vegas with his mom and dad for his 21st birthday, where he met Cris Angel, as well as go to the Price is Right, he also had a day trip to the Grand Canyon with his mom and dad. So much more to his life that cannot be described. Rodmond's pallbearers will be his brothers David, Peter, close friend Richard Lemieux-Robinson, cousins Roblyn Ager, Scott and Curtis Sovak. Honourary pallbearers will be Melanie Hudson, Byron Hernandez, Garth Ager, Marlene Terin, Kyle Hunter, Matt la Rosa with so many more than we could name. Rodmond was the light of our lives, he always had a smile on his face. Service for Rodmond will be held, Saturday July 4th 2009, at 11:00 am at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg. If friends so desire, donations may be made to Khartum Shriners, Variety Children's Charity, Kids Help Phone.
