LAURIE HOWELLS (Nee Knopp)


It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Laurie Howells on April 15, 2010.


Laurie was predeceased by her father Charles Knopp and is survived by children Steven and Gillian Howells (fianc� Andrew); mother Doris Knopp; brother Darwin Knopp; nephew Kyle Knopp as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.


Laurie was born and raised in Winnipeg and graduated from the RN program at Misericordia Hospital at age 19. Laurie continued to practice nursing in various capacities throughout the city. Over the last 8 years Laurie held the position of Coordinator and Executive Director of the Lions Eye Bank of Manitoba and Northwest Ontario. Her dedication and commitment were instrumental to the success of "Sharing a Vision" and the entire eye donation program.


A Memorial Service held on Tuesday, April 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Misericordia Foundation.
