Margaret HIDDLESTON

Obituary of Margaret HIDDLESTON

MARGARET (PEIGI) HIDDLESTON With nieces and nephews by her side, Peigi passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospice on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at the age of 86 years. Peigi was predeceased by her father and mother, Thomas and Kate Hiddleston, (Poulter), by her three sisters Beryl Aitken, Joyce Loxton and Betty Ward and by her niece Norrie-Anne Campbell (Aitken). She will be lovingly remembered by her eight nieces, five nephews and their families. Peigi lived a long and challenging life. Afflicted with Polio in her early years, she adopted a can do - will do - no excuse philosophy to her education, her career and her life in general. Peigi had a quick wit and a keen sense of humour that she shared with us all. She enjoyed a long and successful career with Canada Post and a near equally long and happy retirement. She was a lifetime member of St. Anne's Anglican Church, a leader and tester in the Brownie and Guide packs and was involved with volunteer work at various locations, including the CNIB. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24 at 1:00 PM at St. Anne's Anglican Church, Burrin Avenue at Aikens, with the Rev. Liz Richens and the Very Rev. Ralph Baxter officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Peigi's memory may be made to the Post Polio Network (Manitoba) Inc, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. The extended family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Home Care staff, the administration and staff of the Shaftesbury and especially the Grace Hospice staff for their loving care and support to us all.
