Obituary of Hildie Diehl)

Hildie Heber (nee Diehl) 1936-2011 It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Hildegarde Mary Heber. Mom was born January 7th, 1936 in Macklin, Saskatchewan and passed away Sunday morning, July 17th, 2011. Hildie was pre-deceased by her parents, Adam and Mary Diehl, brother Joe Diehl, sister Ida Ford and sister Mary Baumgartner. Also pre-deceased are her dear brothers-in-law Val Baumgartner and George Ford, and niece Gloria who we all loved very much. Mom is also re-united now with her loyal and furry friend, Sandy. Along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friend Yvonne Dorval, Hildie is survived by sister Katie Levesque and brother Al Diehl, as well as her three children and their spouses: Jim Heber (Ted), Kathy Carter (Dale) and Robert Heber (Lesley), as well as her cherished grand-daughters, Tatiana, Samantha, Annika and Linnea...We all miss her and love her so much! Hildie grew-up on the family farm outside Fillmore, Saskatchewan. A career gal, she lived and worked in Regina and Edmonton throughout the 60's before settling down and raising a family. In 1981 we all moved from Regina to Winnipeg to begin a new life here, but deep down Mom's heart was in Saskatchewan, the land of the open Prairie, Tommy Douglas and Houston Pizza! Like her dear sisters, Mom detested bullies and was fiercely independent. Her life is a great role model for us all to act with love and justice toward the under-dog and the disadvantaged. A devout Catholic, in her own way, Mom was devoted to Our Lady, The Sacred Heart of Jesus, His Father and The Holy Ghost...Since we cannot hold her anymore, we know she is now held in the embrace of Their loving arms. Although Mom's life was not all the time easy or free of pain, she was always quick to remind us of all her blessings, even in the face of despair. Mom knew better than any of us her time on Earth was coming to an end and a couple of weeks ago she apologized for having to leave us so soon. Family and friends are invited to a service in Hildie's memory, 3:30 pm, Saturday, July 23rd at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. We love you Mom!
