Frank Harder

Obituary of Frank Harder

Frank Jacob Harder Peacefully with his family by his side, Frank passed away on December 14, 2009 at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 61. Frank will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his devoted wife Corrie, daughters Jennifer (Dwayne), Karen and Stefanie; grandchildren Drew, Paige Chase, Kayla, Zachary and Colton. His mother Mary Harder Reimer, brothers David (Sharon) and Milton (Colleen) and sisters Olga (Peter), Evelyn (Jim), Elma (Ross), Laura (Ben) and Debra (Bryan) as well as many many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Frank was predeceased by his father Peter, brother Harry and sister Justina and we take solace in knowing he is now joined with them again. Frank was born on August 24, 1948 in Steinbach, Manitoba to Peter and Mary Harder. In 1969 he married the love of his life, his guardian angel, Corrie on August 23, 1969. In 1973 they started their family where he had three daughters. Frank worked for Winnipeg Transit for 29 years. Frank's love in life was his family and the time he got to spend with them. His great passion was curling and he curled for many years with the Fort Garry Legion #90. Many Sunday mornings were spent at the curling rink with dad. He was thrilled that his daughters also took up curling at a young age and never missed a game. He spent a great deal of time putting around in his garage and collecting "treasures". Later on in life his happiness and joy came from his six grandchildren. He was so proud of all of them and couldn't say enough about them. He spent many hours driving around St. Vital on his scooter and watching golf and curling on T.V. We are so grateful for his life and the time we were able to spend with him. Our lives will never be the same without you and we miss you so much; but take great comfort in knowing that you are now at peace. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A private family interment will follow at a later date in Steinbach, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Manitoba Lung Association. We would like to sincerely thank all our family and friends for their prayers during this time. We would also like to give special thanks to Dr. Richard Blouw and Janice his wonderful home care nurse as well as dad's favorite nurses, Debbie and Frank, who took such amazing care for him on the 4th floor at the Victoria Hospital.
