EILEEN MARY HANNON (NEE CLARK) On the evening of Monday, December 8, 2008, Eileen Mary Hannon passed on to a better place of peace and harmony. Her son Ron was by her side and witnessed her final breath. Eileen leaves to mourn her passing 2 sons, David and his wife Marion; Ronald and his wife Gisele and their 3 sons, Derek, Sean and Andrew. Also left to cherish her memory is her kind and caring brother, Reverend Bernard Clark and his wife Kath and grandson Cain as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. This brave war bride was predeceased by her husband Stephen Hannon in 2000 and before that, her brother John and her parents Herbert and Eileen Clark. Eileen Mary Clark was born in England on June 4, 1923 making her a part of the greatest generation that ever lived. The onset of the Second World War made for difficult times but blessings shone forth as a young Soldier Hannon shipped overseas was destined to espouse this sweet lady who would prove herself strong as a devoted and dedicated wife and mother. Eileen worked for the Hudson's Bay Company for over 30 years and enjoyed friends, family and wonderful trips with Steve including a return visit to England in 1992. Hers was a life lived well amongst turmoil, hardships and joy and her moment on this earth with us is well worth celebrating. A Memorial Mass in the presence of her spirit and cremains will be celebrated on Friday, December 19, at 1:00 p.m. in her and Stephen's life long parish of Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or to a charity of your choice. Amid the uproar of WWII cannons Eileen met and married young Soldier Hannon She traveled across the big Pond To share his life forever and beyond Now, after 8 years of loneliness apart Stephen Hannon stills his bride's heart He calls her Home to no more feel lonely But to share in God's eternal Peace and Harmony Safe trip across the Ultimate Pond...
