Obituary of Ronald Hamilton

Ronald E. Hamilton 1934-2008 Peacefully on November 18, 2008 surrounded by his loving family, Ron went to be with his Lord and join his beloved Mom, "Bobbi". Ron was born January 13, 1934 in Winnipeg. He met the Love of his Life, Elsie, in 1951 and they were married in June 1953. Ron devoted his life to his wife and the raising of his five girls he dubbed his harem. There was always room in his home for more. He was a dedicated friend and a positive inspiration to many who blessed his life. Ron started his career with the Royal Alexander Hotel in 1952 as an elevator boy and stayed with them, working his way up to assistant manager, until 1967 when the Hotel closed. That same year he continued his career with the City of Winnipeg, first with Hydro and then with Waterworks as a meter reader, and finally as an inspector. Ron leaves to mourn his cherished wife Elsie and their five daughters, Rosemarie(Garry), Cindy(Rob), Janice, Kimberley(Michael), and Charlene(Jason); seven grandchildren, Nicholas, Katelyn, Travis, Kyle, Ryan, Benjamin and Elise; and four great-grandchildren, Michaela, Damien, Dominic and Deevon; as well as numerous close family and friends. Dad's positive attitude and love of life shone through to every aspect of his life, and he passed on his gratitude to Dr. Armstrong and his "beautiful angels" at Seven Oaks dialysis for their kind care over the last number of years. The family extends their thanks to the staff of the third floor, Unit 7, at Seven Oaks Hospital, for their kind patience and compassion during Dad's final days. A celebration of Ron's life will occur on Monday, November 24, 11:00 a.m. at Cross Church (formerly Weston Gospel Church), 1787 Logan Avenue at Keewatin. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
