Nellie was born June 13, 1909 to Alec and Malanka Kushniryk in Arbakka, MB. She was the "baby of the family" and the last survivor of her parents, five brothers and one sister. She married Michael Gawronski in 1928 and is survived by two daughters, Anna Leach of Prince Albert, SK and Rose Black of East Selkirk, MB, as well as 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

Mom loved spending time visiting and cooking for her family and spoiling her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, watching the "soaps" on television, playing bingo and a day out at the casino.

A Birthday celebration was held at Holy Family Home on June 13, 2009 to honor our mom on her 100th birthday. A five-generation photograph was taken at that gathering.

The family would like to thank the staff on St. Paul's ward for their excellent care and all the staff that interacted with mom over the years.
