Obituary of Patrick FRENCH

PATRICK CLIFFORD FRENCH It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Clifford French on March 20, 2010 at the age of 54. Pat enjoyed life and accepted the challenges it threw at him with an open mind and a determination that was unsurpassed. Caring and compassionate, he was always available to sit and have a coffee whether to discuss the markets or just to chat with family and friends. Patrick had a lengthy career as a City of Winnipeg employee assigned to the Winnipeg Police Service, working on the design and implementation of the Automated Computer and Records System. His computer knowledge was crucial to the success of the system in its initial implementation. He continued to maintain contact with many of his co-workers until his passing. Pat enjoyed working with his hands and spent many an hour in his workshop tinkering or doing a woodworking project. Whether it was his hobbies or career his approach was always the same, slow and meticulous. His attention to detail was often painfully humorous. Before passing, Pat often expressed his gratitude to his caregivers and in particular wished to thank the staff at Health Sciences Centre Physiotherapy Department for their caring and compassionate efforts. Pat was predeceased by his mother, Grace and father Clifford. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial and interment will follow at a later date. As an expression of sympathy , donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation .
