MARY FOLTA

Mary Folta (nee Korpesho) passed away on February 5, 2009 at River East Personal Care Home. She was 93 years old. Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jacob, brothers, John, George, Nick, Fred, Mike and Peter as well as her sister Kay. Mary was born on March 20, 1915 to John and Annie Korpesho in Hamrlik MB. She attended New Valley School before moving to Winnipeg. Mary worked many jobs in the service industry. Mary and Jacob married on February 14, 1942; their home was a frequent gathering place where one would always find an abundance of Ukrainian food. Mary was Auntie to all who knew her and was always willing to lend a hand, cook a meal or give a lesson in perogy making. Mary and Jacob's many nieces and nephews visited often and kept them very busy. Mary and Jacob enjoyed travelling in Canada and the U.S. They also enjoyed traveling with family to pick mushrooms and blueberries. The family would like to thank the staff at River East Personal Care Home for their compassionate care over the past few years. Prayers will be held on Monday, February 9 at 7:00pm at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 10 at 1:00pm also at the chapel. Interment will follow at All Saint's Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations in Mary's memory may be made to a charity of their choice. Flowers are gratefully declined.
