Obituary of Anthony EVANUIK
ANTHONY (TONY) JACK EVANUIK
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend Tony Evanuik. Peacefully, Tony, dearly beloved son of Molly, passed away at the age of 64 at the Grace Hospital on March 31st, 2010, after a long battle with pneumonia.
Predeceased by his father Walter, sister Georgina, sister-in-law Linda, niece Melanie, and nephew Walter.
Tony is survived by his mother Molly; brothers Eugene, John (Colleen), William (Darlene), and Ryan (Barb); nephews and nieces Kelly, Sandra, Ernie "Brad", Johnathon, Sherry, and Jack; aunts, uncle, cousins and many friends.
Tony was born at the St. Boniface Hospital on September 27, 1945. He was raised and grew up in Transcona and then spent his remaining years in Winnipeg. Tony was a kind and giving person who would help anyone who needed help. Tony loved all sports, especially baseball and hockey. One of his greatest joys in life was in 1972 when he went to Russia to watch the Canada vs. Russia hockey game. When Tony was younger and healthier he loved to travel and travelled throughout Europe. Tony loved all animals and was an amazing trainer. He especially loved his beautiful poodles Snowball and Peaches.
A special thank you to Tony's friends Reggie, Jake, and Colleen for their companionship and care for so many years. The family also wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at the Grace Hospital in all their efforts to save Tony.
According to Tony's wishes he has been cremated and there will be no service.
Tony will always be loved, sadly missed, and in our hearts forever.
