Obituary of Wanda Daczko

WANDA VIOLET DACZKO On Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at the Maples Personal Care Home, Wanda Daczko, our beloved mother, passed away at the age of 86 years. Left to mourn her passing are her son Leonard and daughter-on-law Yvonne Daczko of Qualicum Beach, B.C. She also leaves her brothers Victor, Boris and Edward Ziola of B.C.and Minnie Smigelski of Ste Rose. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Cyril and Florence Ziola, husband Edward, brothers Max & Walter and sisters Olga &Victoria. Wanda was born in Jurjampol, Poland on May 2, 1923. The family immigrated to Winnipeg in 1928. Shortly thereafter they moved to Tolstoi and years later to Rorekton, MB. Wanda moved back to Winnipeg to work and continue her schooling. She met and married Edward in Winnipeg in 1943..They had one child Leonard born in 1944. Wanda eventually started working in sales and alterations during the 1950's in a store on Portage Ave, which became Helene's Bridal Salon. She was employed there until 1993 when she retired at the age of 70 years. She loved her employers, co-workers and the customers most of all. She was a kind and generous woman who gave of her time and love to others. The family would like to thank the staff at the Concordia and Seven Oaks Hospitals and at the Maples Personal Care Home for the kindness shown Wanda during her illness. Also special thanks to Joanne Ilkew and Linda, Alex and William Kaye. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 28th at 10:00 a.m. in Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street at Inkster.
