Obituary of Brian CONNELL

BRIAN DOUGLAS CONNELL It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Brian Douglas Connell on February 10, 2010. Brian was born March 19, 1940 in Winnipeg. Brian died at the age of 69 years from lung cancer (Mesothelioma) caused from Asbestos. Brian will be lovingly remembered by his wife Elsa. Also left to cherish his memory are his 3 children, Andrea (Byron) Speidel and grandson Tyson, of Winnipeg. Lisa Connell in Edmonton. David (Renee) Connell and granddaughter Kenidy from High River, Alberta. Brian is also survived by 2 sisters - Eileen Wagner in Belleville, Ontario and Joan Wynands (Ron) in Winnipeg; also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Brian was an electrician by trade, working for the City of Winnipeg as an electrical inspector prior to his retirement in 2003. Brian enjoyed skiing, senior's baseball, woodcarving and most importantly, spending time with his 2 grandchildren. The clock of life is wound but once, And no one had the power, To tell just when the hands will stop What day….. or even hour….. Now is the only time you have So love it - live it, with a will, Don't wait until tomorrow. ...the hands may then be still….. At Brian's request , cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 15 at 10:30 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel 1442 Main Street. Flowers are gratefully declined. A donation may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association in Brian's memory.
