Obituary of Antonio CARREIRO
ANTONIO JACINTO CARREIRO
Peacefully, on December 14, 2010, Antonio Jacinto Carreiro passed away at the age of 88 years.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Esmeria Carreiro. Together they had 6 children: Manuel Antonio (Elisabeth), Rosa Felgueiras, Aldina Pereira, Paulo (Lucia), Nelson (Ana) and Marcos (Fatima). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren: Christina Felgueiras-Amaral, Roberto Felgueiras, Jennifer/Christopher/Andrew Pereira, Mark/Nicholas Carreiro, Natalie/Julia Carreiro, Claudia/Monica Carreiro and Olivia/Miguel Carreiro.
Antonio was born on February 5, 1922 in Feteira Pequena S�o Miguel A�ores, son of Manuel Jacinto Carreiro and Rosa Cabral Pimentel. He was 1 of 9 children, Maria Rosa Lopes (Antonio), Manuel Carreiro, Rosa Carreiro, David Carreiro, Isaura Carreiro, David Manuel Carreiro (Mercedes), Simon Carreiro (Aline) and Ines Pimentel Lucas (Eduardo), Ernesto (Maria).
Antonio was a laborer in Portugal before immigrating to Brazil in 1966. He worked at Vanda, a paint manufacturer in Brazil before immigrating to Canada in 1972. Antonio worked at Thor Manufacturing and Motor Coach before retiring in 1986. He was a devoted husband and family man whose greatest pride, were his children and grandchildren. Antonio loved to spend hours telling stories and was known to everyone for his loyalty and hard work. In 1979, dad bought a farm in Teulon, MB, which he loved and called it our family get-a-way.

Prayers will be held on Monday, December 20 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 21 at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. N. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
