Obituary of Jaime CANDELARIA

JAIME MOREIRA CANDELARIA Peacefully, with his family at his side, Jaime passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital on August 12, 2009. Jaime was born on May 15, 1918 in Ribeira Grande, Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1957, settling in Kenora, ON and moving to Winnipeg in 1968. Jaime was predeceased by his first wife and mother of his children Maria in 1974, by his parents Jacinto and Maria, and by his 4 brothers Rev. Fr. Manuel, D.D., Jose, Angelo and Alfredo. Jaime is survived by his wife of 31 years Honoria; his son Jose (Donna); daughters Maria (Andre) Barnabe, Fatima (Silvano) Pereira, Alda (Bill) Cone, Alcida (Alvaro) Medeiros, Armenia (Manuel) Evaristo, Mariana (Jose) Evaristo; 15 grandchildren (Linda, Michael, Nancy; Brian, Mark; Dino, Sandra; Cindy, Leila; Danny, Jennifer; Lucia, Maria; Barbara, Jason); and 17 great grandchildren. As children and grandchildren were his joy in life his 6 grandsons will be pallbearers and his 9 granddaughters will be honorary pallbearers. We would like to thank Nathan and Romeo from Homecare and Dr. M. Perez for their dedication to Jaime over the past several years, to Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H. and also to the Seven Oaks Hospital staff on the 5th Floor Unit 7 for the care and dignity shown to Jaime and our family during the past 6 days. Prayers will be held on Friday, August 14 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street N. Interment to follow in Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations will be appreciated to Seven Oaks Hospital or a charity of your choice.
