HEITOR FILIPE CAMILO March 1, 1933-April 15, 2009 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Heitor Camilo on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Heitor was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years, Irene, his daughters Tina (Arthur Vieira), Anna (Roger Fernandes), his grandchildren Serena, Shane, Scott, Kyle, Chantelle, great grandson Landen, his close brother Julio and nephew Paulo (Carla). In Portugal, he leaves to mourn his sister and brothers, Maria do Carmo, Antonio, and Jose along with their families. He will be missed by many friends both in Winnipeg and Portugal. Heitor was born and raised in Portugal. He later immigrated to Holland and then to Winnipeg, Canada in 1967. He worked for CP Rail, BACM Construction, and finally as a custodian with the Winnipeg School Division until he retired in 1995. He then travelled between his retirement home in the beautiful resort area of Algarve, Portugal and Winnipeg spending time with close family in both places. Heitor was an active member of the Portuguese Association of Manitoba and instrumental in founding the Portuguese Language School in Winnipeg, where he taught Portuguese language classes. His favorite pastimes included playing cards with his buddies and watching his beloved Benfica soccer team. The family wishes to thank Dr. Finlayson and the staff of the cardiac unit at Seven Oaks Hospital for their compassionate care. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, April 17 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1422 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, April 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Very Rev. Jos� Eduardo Medeiros, V.F. as Celebrant. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue.
