Obituary of Dragica BOGOVIC

DRAGICA BOGOVIC November 18,1934-January 21, 2011 Peacefully on Friday, January 21, 2011, at the age of 76 surrounded by her family, Dragica Bogovic, passed away at Donwood Manor Personal Care Home. She was predeceased by her parents Justina and Franjo Cindric; brother Milan (Marija) Cindric; niece Draga Jurcevic; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ana and Valentin Bogovic; sister-in-law Slavica (Mirko) Medved; brother-in-law Ivica Bogovic; and sister-in-law Kate (Marko) Medved all of Croatia with numerous cousins and family members. She will be lovingly remembered and forever missed by her beloved husband of 50 years, Josip; daughter Marina (Josip); and her beloved and cherished grandsons Kevin and Christopher. She is also survived by her brother Mirko (Dragica) Cindric of Winnipeg; sister Marija (Mike) MarÃ…¡ic of Summerland B.C.; brother Pero (Barbara) Cindric of Vancouver, B.C.; sister-in-law Milka Bogovic of Croatia; brother- in-law Nikola (Dragica) Bogovic of Australia; brother-in-law Milan (Anka) Bogovic of Winnipeg; and numerous nieces and nephews throughout Canada, the United States, Australia and Croatia. Dragica was born on November 18,1934 in Smrekovac, Bosna and Hercegovina. Her dreams for a better life led her and her family to Karlovac, Croatia and eventually to unite with her youngest brother Pero and sister-in-law Barbara in Canada. She came with her family to Winnipeg in 1971 and together with her family continued to build a better life and future. A vigil will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27 at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 28 at St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Church, 2688 Main Street with Father Robert Polz officiating.
