MARY BARON August 7, 1918 - May 9, 2008 Mrs. Mary Baron passed away peacefully on Friday, May 9, 2008 at the St. Joseph's Residence Inc. personal care home. Mary was predeceased by her husband, John and her parents, John & Effie Chubaty. She leaves to mourn and to cherish her memory; her sons Ronald (Jean) and Leonard (Sylvia,) her five grandsons; Darryl (Sharon), Duane (Karen), Brent (Carrie), Jim (Fiona), Robert (Karen), and 13 great grandchildren. She loved her family very much and was very proud of them. Mary was born on August 7, 1918 in Gardenton, Manitoba. She moved with her parents to Grindrod, B.C. in 1922 and then to Trail, B.C. in 1926. She returned with her parents to Carlowrie, Manitoba in 1933 where her parents built and operated a general store. She married John Baron on August 26, 1934. She returned with her husband John and her two sons to Trail, B.C. in 1937. The family returned to Carlowrie, Manitoba in 1945 where they operated a general store until 1953 after which time they moved to Winnipeg. She worked for the Pollock and the Reisenberg clothing stores. She also worked at Sears for 16 years from where she retired in 1978. The family wishes to thank the staff of the St. Joseph's Residence Inc. for their compassionate care of our Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba with Very Rev. Raymond Lukie C.Ss.R. officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. An online book of condolences may be signed at www.cropo.com.
