Obituary of Norah BALE

NORAH MAY BALE It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear Mother, and Sister Norah on June 30, 2010. Norah was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and David Morrow and her husband Robert Bale. Left to mourn her passing are her children, Patricia (Alvin) and Terry, along with her sister Margaret (Larry) and many nieces and nephews. Norah was born and raised in Elmwood. She attended Lord Selkirk and St. John's High Schools and was a member of Gordon King Memorial U. C. where she attended C.G.I.T. Norah joined the army and was stationed in Washington, DC during WWII and attained the rank of Staff Sargent. After the war, Norah worked at various jobs as a Secretary, where she met and married Bob in 1950 and later the children arrived. Norah and Bob built a lovely home in Rivercrest and were active members in the community. They also built a cabin at Falcon Lake and enjoyed many summers with the family. Norah was a very talented seamstress and tailor. She took ceramic and weaving classes and made many lovely pieces for her home and family. Bob helped build West St. Paul Curling Club and Norah taught the schools children to curl. In later years, Bob and Norah spent their winters at Pine to Palm Park in Weslaco, Texas. Norah enjoyed 20 years there until her health began to fail. Many thanks to the hospital staff on N3 East at Concordia Hospital for their care and comfort. Very special thanks to Dr. M. Ochonska and Tabitha for their special care. A Celebration of Norah's Life will be held on Wednesday, July 7 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main at Inkster. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, kindly make a donation in Norah's memory to a charity of your choice. "Rest in Peace Dear Mum"
