SANDY BAKUSKA After a 9 month battle with Ovarian Cancer it is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our dear Wife, Mother, Grandma, Sister and Friend. She faced her disease with courage, dignity and strength; through it all she never lost her "spunk". On May 21st 2009 at home, with her loving family by her side she found peace and was able to finally rest. She will be cherished and forever remembered by her beloved husband Ken, best friend and daughter Sue, son-in-law Larry, and Nanny's angels Samantha (Muffet) and Kaylee (Pokey), son Rick, daughter-in-law Carla, and granddaughter Letesha (Beasley). Also left to mourn her passing, mother-in-law Elsie, sisters Heather (Murray), Christine (Mike), sisters-in-law Joan (Garth) and Chris; brothers Bill (Julie), Sam (Sharon), numerous nieces and nephews and Goddaughters Jessica and Shae. As well as many other family, friends and co- workers who loved her very much. Sandy was born February 4, 1951 in Winnipeg MB. She was predeceased by her mother, Patricia, father, Fred, brother Wayne, and father-in-law Norman. She was truly blessed on February 24, 1979 to meet the love of her life Ken. Together they enjoyed many cruises, trips to Las Vegas and shared many summers at their cottage in Sandy Lake. They hosted the annual "Christmas Eve Open House" where a lot of great memories were made. For many years Sandy was employed with Northern Telecom and spent the last 14 years at Maples Garden Market IGA. She loved the people that she worked with and had a very special way with her customers, alot of whom had become friends over the years. Sandy's love for her family was limitless. She was a supportive and dedicated Mother and Nanny, and shared a very special bond with "her girls".
