ISABEL ALMAZOR (NEE ALMENDRA) October 24, 1913 - March 10, 2011 It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Isabel Almazor, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband Paulino in January 1981 and son-in-law Augusto Amil in June 2010. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Matilde Amil, Olympia (Jose) Closas, Amy Ruth, Ted (Melita), and Zenaida (Alex) Batingal; her grandchildren: Mercy (Lito) Baylon, Lutgardo (Erwina) Amil, Cristina (Rhommel) Climacosa, Marita (Ali) Tongol, Jolie-Anne (Brent) Horn, Jocelyn, Oliver and Jasmine Closas, Jehan and Jim Almazor, Abigail Batingal (engaged to Jeff Orjallo), Angilyn, Annabelle and Anthony Batingal; and great-grandchildren: John, Patrick and Pauline Amil, Jobelle Baylon, and Breanne Horn; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Isabel was born in BiÃıan, Laguna, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg in July 1983. She loved to spend time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved to sew, play traditional Filipino games and sing traditional hymns/songs (kundiman). The family would like to thank her WRHA caregivers, the dedicated staff at St. Boniface General Hospital (5th floor) and Misericordia Health Centre (C5 Cedar Grove) for their loving and compassionate care. A special thank you to Dr. Rodolfo Padua. Viewing (Lamay) will take place on Saturday, March 12 (6:00 p.m. - midnight) and Sunday, March 13 (6:00 p.m. - midnight, with prayers at 7:00 p.m.) both at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 15 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward's the Confessor Parish, 836 Arlington St. with Rev. Fr. Rainerio Sarce officiating. Interment will take place in the Philippines alongside her beloved husband. ``We love you Nanay/Lola - you will be dearly missed.``
