Obituary of MARCO PETRICIG

MARCO PETRICIG 1948-2013 Peacefully after battling lymphoma Marco passed away with family at his side on Sunday, August 11th. Dad was predeceased by his mother (Angelina), father (Elio), sister (Maria) and brother (Marcello). He is survived by Ann Petricig, his children Tony (Linda), Michael (Megan), Lisa (Ryan) and Matthew; his brother Franco (Sylvia), sister Elsa (Ron), brother Natalino; grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan and Myles; nephews, nieces, cousins and other family. Dad was born in Savogna (Udine) Italy. His parents brought their family to Canada when dad was 13 years old. They moved to Winnipeg and settled into their family home on Ingersoll where they created a lifetime of memories. Dad had many things he liked to do, hunting, fishing, making homemade wine from the grapes they grew in the backyard, cooking, spending time with family at the cottage in West Hawk and drinking beer. Dad worked at Schneiders meats for 37 years and made many friends from there. He went fishing in Lac du Bonnet by "the rock" not too long ago and caught some fish for the last time. He was so happy. His lymphoma took him from us all to fast but now he is in a better place and at peace. We would like to thank all the doctors and nurses on the 6th floor and Palliative Care at the St. Boniface hospital for taking such good care of our dad. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street.
