NIKOLA DRAZIC
December 17, 1935 - July 3, 2013
Nikola Drazic passed away peacefully
at the St. Boniface Hospital on Wednesday,
July 3rd at the age of 77.
Survived by Petra, his devoted wife of 60 years,
daughter Gordana, son Djuro and daughter-in-law Kimberly.
Known as Deda and loved by his grandchildren Luka,
Melissa, Leo and Tara. His great-grandchildren brought
him much love and joy: Ben, Abby, Liam, Johnathan,
Layla, Dylan, Emily, Tyler and Lacey.
Nikola is also survived by his brother Milan (Dragica),
sister Danica and numerous nieces and nephews. He will
also be remembered by all his in-laws and good times
he shared with all of them, as well as many friends he
had in his neighbourhood.
Predeceased by his parents Djuja and Petar, Nikola was
born in Velika Greda, Serbia and immigrated to Winnipeg,
Canada in 1970 along with his family. He worked in the
maintenance business until he retired. Nikola holds
a US/United Kingdom Patent for developing a process
for reducing tar and nicotine in cigarettes. He was an avid
stamp collector, he was also a scholar from Serbia with
a Masters Degree in Commerce. He loved spending time
with family, and he loved fishing.
The family extends their thanks to the doctors, nurses and
all staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their genuine
care and compassion towards Nikola.
Prayers will be held on Monday, July 8, 7:00 p.m. at
Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Funeral Service will
be on Tuesday, July 9, 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel.
Interment to follow in Brookside Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nikola's family members.
If friends and family so desire, donations instead of
flowers may be sent in Nikola's memory to St. Sava Serbian
Orthodox Church, 580 Talbot Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
