Peacefully, with family at her side, Lillian Gunn passed away on May 2, 2013, at Luther Home.
She was predeceased by her husband Jack, her brothers and sisters-in-law Bob (Muriel), Walter, Allen, Reg (Pauline), Edwin (Gladys), John; nephew Rick Walker and grandniece Lori Magalas. She is survived by her daughters Shirley (Joel) Segal and Lynn Gunn; grandchildren Karen (Jon) Shand, Kelly (Scott) Goertz, Michael Tyndall, Laurie Tyndall, Stacy (Darren) Stibbard and Heather Rudolph, and niece June (Don) Rudolph; great grand children Marajade and Xander Goertz, Eric and Kaitlyn Stibbard, and Amelia Rudolph; her sister-in-law Eileen Nichols, cousins Ann (Bruce) Routley, Nancy Cuthbertson, and many nieces and nephews.
From the time she graduated from grade twelve, Lillian worked as an executive secretary and administrative assistant for the Walter M. Lowney Co. and Standard Brands Ltd. She was active for many years in the Manitoba Highland Dancers Association and the Kildonan UCW and Atlantic Garden City United Church. She enjoyed knitting and over the years knitted thousands of baby layettes for various charities.
Both Mom and Dad enjoyed spending as much time as possible in the summer at the lake. Mom loved her family and she looked after everyone.
The family offers profound thanks to the staff of Luther Home for their kindness and compassionate care.
As per Mom's wishes there will be no service. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to Luther Home, 1081 Andrews Street, Wpg., Mb., R2V 2G9, or to a charity of your choice.
