It is with the utmost sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Wilson Oberlin on January 6, 2025.

Gord was born in Virden, Manitoba to John and Irene in 1944. Gord grew up in and around the community of Reston and later in Souris. Gord was the oldest of two sons, and he was very close to his brother Doug.

Gord later moved to Pinawa, Manitoba, and worked at Atomic Energy of Canada. With their family, Gord and his wife Rita, moved to various communities in Ontario before settling in Winnipeg.

Gord was predeceased by his father, his mother, and his brother, Doug. He leaves behind many great friends as well as his wife Rita of 53 years, his son Kenneth (Pamela), his daughter April (Joel), his grandchildren: Bryan, Shawn, Jayce, Matthew, Thomas and Kaitlyn. Gord was also a great-grandfather to Shawn’s son, Nathan.

Gord was a courier for over 35 years, and he loved his customers. He enjoyed talking to people and Gord was everyone’s friend. Gord was an avid reader, loved to talk about and race cars, he was a Master Firearms Safety instructor who loved hunting and the outdoors.

We will always miss and love Gord.
