HOK WOLTERS

Hok Wolters our beautiful mother, grandmother and Oma, passed away September 12, 2023 at the age of 94. She was born December 24, 1928 in Weleri, Indonesia, and immigrated to Canada with her husband and family in 1957.

Our mother was an exceptional cook who loved serving everyone’s favourites. Many of her dishes are legendary. She especially enjoyed gardening and travelling with her husband. She was delighted to travel with her children and grandchildren showing us some of their best loved places.

Our mother was always generous, hospitable, kind and friendly. She lived a selfless life, always thinking of others, a true role model for us all.

She was predeceased by her husband John, daughter Honey, her parents and many siblings. She is survived by children: Evert (Sonia), Anna (Steve), Paul (Donna), Robert, Irene (Len). Grandchildren: David (Andrea), Laura (Jared), Kristi (James), Kara (Donovan), Jeff (Jessi), Andrea (Vaughn), Justin (Jade), Nicole (Max), Jenny (Dave). Great grandchildren: Maddie, Luke, Mila, Isla, Kira, Kingston, Lincoln, Rylee, Mady, Walter, Henry, Ben, Charlie, and also many nieces and nephews who were all very special to her.

The family would like to thank the extraordinary staff at Lions Supportive Living for their kindness and close friendship over the last few years. Many thanks also to the wonderful staff of the 4th Floor North at the Victoria Hospital for their compassionate care for Hok and her family during the past weeks.

A private family celebration of life is being planned.
