Obituary of EDWARD CHROBAK
EDWARD CHROBAK
(ED, EDDIE, EDZIO)
It is with great sadness that the family of Ed Chrobak announces his passing on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the age of 51. Ed will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Becky Bonertz and his three boys, Dylan, Maxwell, and Carson. Ed will also be forever fondly remembered by his mother Janina Chrobak (nee Nowak), by his sisters Krys (Peter) and Ella, and by his brother Adam (Suzette), his nieces, nephews, extended family, dear friends, and his Princess Auto family.
Ed grew up in the North End of Winnipeg before moving to West Kildonan and finally settling in North Kildonan with his family. Ed graduated from St. Paul’s High School in 1985, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) 1993, and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honors) 1996 from the University of Manitoba. Ed earned his CMA in 2011. He began working at Princess Auto in 2000 as a Senior Leader in Business Analysis and throughout his 18+ years of service he became a highly trusted, valued, and loved team member.
Ed was a loving father and husband spending quality time with his family camping, boating, sledding and always making sure the boys got to their many extra-curricular activities. Ed never missed an opportunity to participate in work functions from galas to fundraising events, and he loved his raffle prizes, always making sure someone, or a few someones, entered his tickets for him. He always had time for friends and family, he was the life of the party. Ed always wore a smile on his face and never had a bad thing to say. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in memory of Ed on Monday, January 7, 2019 at 1:00 p.m., at the Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Avenue with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ed’s name can be made to the Cancer Care Manitoba Foundation, https://secure3.convio.net/ccmf/site/Donation2?df_id=1501&1501.donation=form1 .

Death Is Nothing At All
By Henry Scott-Holland
Death is nothing at all.
It does not count.
I have only slipped away into the next room.
Nothing has happened.
Everything remains exactly as it was.
I am I, and you are you,
and the old life that we lived so fondly together is untouched, unchanged.
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by the old familiar name.
Speak of me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.
Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.
Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same as it ever was.
There is absolute and unbroken continuity.
What is this death but a negligible accident?
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
just round the corner.
All is well.
Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.
One brief moment and all will be as it was before.
How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!
