FRANCE-MARIE SEVIGNY

July 17, 1953-March 15, 2018

It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother France-Marie Sevigny, at Victoria Hospital, Winnipeg, Manitoba.  She was predeceased by her mother Madeleine Paul, father Roger Duhaime, sister Line and brother Guy.

She leaves behind her four children, Jessika, Keven, Chantal and Steve, her grand-children Brandon, Kathryn, Paige, Jynaya, Maya, Bella and one on the way, her daughter in law Missy and sons in law Paul and Mickael, her sisters Johanne, Odette and Marie, her brothers Mario, Luc and Yves and many other family members as well as close friends.

France was a loving mother, foster mom and grandmother. She was a published author, artist, and Bahai, who worked for the greater good of her community, actively working towards justice, the protection of children, the equality of men and women, the abolishment of the extremes of poverty and wealth, and the unity with respect to diversity of all people.

France was convinced that all was possible in life. She published three books, she led a campaign across Quebec for peace, denouncing the violence against children and women. She left her mark on the walls where she created murals to beautify spaces. She served on the Local Bahai Assembly of Drummondville, was an active member of the community, teaching the principals of the faith through her acts of service including firesides, study circles, devotional gatherings, and children’s neighbourhood classes. France taught private art lessons, as well in schools and community centers. She will be greatly missed by her friends and family.

We would like to invite you to join us in a celebration of her life at the Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street on Friday, March 23 at 1 pm, followed by a procession to St Clement Cemetery, where she will be buried. In honour of her last wishes, a community potluck will be held that same evening from 6 to 10 pm. Location will be announced at the funeral. C'est avec grand regret que nous vous annonçons le décès soudain de notre mère bien-aimée, France- Marie Sévigny, à l'Hôpital Victoria de Winnipeg, au Manitoba. Elle a été précédée par sa mère Madeleine Paul, son père Roger Duhaime, sa soeur Line et de son frère Guy.

Elle laisse ses quatre enfants, Jessika, Keven, Chantal et Steve, suivis de ses petits-enfants Brandon, Kathryn, Paige, Jynaya, Maya, Bella et un autre due pour l’automne, sa belle-fille Missy et ses beau-fils Paul et Mickael, ses sœurs Johanne, Odette et Marie, ses frères Mario, Luc et Yves et de nombreux autres membres de la famille ainsi que des amis proches.

France était une mère aimante, mère d’accueil et grand-mère formidable. France était écrivaine, artiste et Bahai, elle travaillait pour le plus grand bien de sa communauté, œuvrant activement pour la justice, la protection des enfants, l'égalité des hommes et des femmes, l'abolition des extrêmes de la pauvreté et de l'unité et le respect de la diversité de tous.

France était convaincue que tout était possible dans la vie. Elle a publié trois livres, elle a mené une campagne à travers le Québec pour la paix, dénonçant la violence contre les Femmes et les enfants. Elle a laissé sa marque sur les murs où elle a créé des murales pour embellir les espaces publics. Elle a siégé à l'Assemblée Spirituel locale de Drummondville, était une membre active de la communauté, enseignant les principes de la foi à travers ses services, y compris les coins de feu, les cercles d'étude, les réunions de dévotion et les classes de quartier pour les enfants. France a enseigné des cours d'art privés, aussi bien dans les écoles publiques que dans les centres communautaires. Elle manquera beaucoup à ses proches et à sa famille.

Nous vous invitons à vous joindre à nous pour une célébration de sa vie à la Maison funéraire Cropo, le vendredi 23 mars à 13h, suivie d'une procession au cimetière St-Clément, où elle sera enterrée. En l'honneur de ses dernières volontés, un repas communautaire aura lieu le soir même de 18 h à 22 h. L'emplacement sera annoncé lors des funérailles.
