Obituary of SLAW RIBACHUK

SLAW RIBACHUK

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that the family of Slaw Ribachuk announces his passing on May 9, 2017 after a brief illness, at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Slaw was born in Shorncliffe, Manitoba on October 6, 1926.

Slaw was married to Mildred Keleta who passed away in 1987. He was also predeceased by brothers Joe, John, James and sisters Olga and Anne.

Slaw worked at Symington yards with the CNR for 34 years and had many family and friends.

Later in life Slaw reconnected with childhood friend Mary Galonsky and they had many happy years together. They were seen many a Friday and Saturday dancing up a storm at the Legion.

Those left to cherish his memory along with Mary are many nieces and nephews, friends, neighbours and Mary’s family.

Besides Mary, Slaw enjoyed his two Cadillacs, looking after his yard and garden and making regular trips to the farm in Shorncliffe.

Slaw loved to tinker and was a master repair man who would fix everything needing repair. He was an avid sports fan; hockey and baseball being his favourite and loved to listen to Ukrainian music.
